Rest and recover yoga workshop
You may spend serious time sweating, but it's the space between workouts that counts. You aren't realizing the full benefit of your workout routine unless you're giving equal attention to recovery.
Allow me to be your guide and teach you the techniques needed to create a restful yoga practise with restorative yoga and yoga nidra.
The benefits of restorative yoga and yoga nidra have been proven through several scientific studies and experiments. These practices are suitable for everyone, including those with no experience with yoga or meditation. A few long-held, mellow, low-to-the-ground poses complement your workout with a work-in: paying attention to your body and breath, inducing the relaxation response, and jump-starting your recovery.
During this 2 hours workshop, we go through a gentle, smooth slow flow to warm-up and prepare our body to rest and recover.
After, I teach you 4 restorative poses. I give you hands on assist or a massage during the practise, if you would like to get.
Last part of the class is the yoga nidra meditation, which is a 35-40 minutes restful sleep.
At this workshop, I use essential oils, soft music and candles for maximum relaxation.

Restorative Yoga The aim is to support the body and get as comfortable as possible, being free from any tension or discomfort and allowing everything to be able to soften and release. A variety of different props are often used to facilitate this comfort, although you can often use the things you have in your home with exactly the same effects. When we are comfortable, it allows everything to open, lengthen and relax, quieting and relaxing the nervous system as well as the physical body. Restorative yoga allows us to bring stillness and calmness in our physical body, which can then transfer out to the emotional and mental body. Restorative postures can put you in the perfect position for comfort and ease, which in turn allows you space to observe the self and have the ability to begin to practice mindfulness and meditation.
Yoga Nidra / Yogic sleep It is a powerful relaxation meditation technique performed in the lying position. Yoga nidra is designed to take the waking consciousness through a task of observation while allowing the sub-conscious mind to become more present. It is one of the most beloved of all the relaxation-meditation techniques in the world today. 1 hour of yoga nidra is the equivalent to 4 hours of restful sleep. This is because the technique is practical and easy to do and creates the deep rest and relaxation required for good health, mental peace and higher awareness. Getting deep rest is especially important in today’s busy world. The problem is that many of us carry our day-to-day tensions into sleep, that’s why yoga nidra is a good choice to prevent this problem.
